The Project Page

Everything listed here is in stock or arriving soon. The purpose of this page is to showcase the stock we have that is available to either buy as a project or we are always happy to discuss restoring a vehicle on your behalf. On this page we aim to give a good representation of each vehicle and an idea of what is required to return it to the road. In most cases we will have already checked over the car and have detailed notes available which we would be happy to discuss with any interested buyer.

E28 525i Auto · Malachite Green · 82k · SOLD!

Regular followers will have seen that we pulled this lovely Malchite green 525i auto out of a garage where it has been sat for 13 years a few weeks back.

Our master tech gently and respectfully coaxed the low milage 81k engine back to life an as you would expect it runs beautifully. Before cranking the engine the cam cover was removed and camshaft and oil ways inspected to reveal an almost perfect camshaft and plentiful oil flow. The car has now been fully appraised by us so we can inform potential owners of the further requirements it will require to make it road worthy.

Overall the interior is in superb condition with the exception of the dash which has some cracking, the body is very good indeed requiring a very small amount of welding to be made road worthy. The car has part history and can be driven for the purposes of loading and unloading.
A simple and straight forward project for the hobbyist or we would be absolutely delighted to discuss undertaking the required work with any new potential owner. A great basis for someone looking for a project. Contact us for more information.

E28 528i Manual · Cosmos Blue · Left Hand Drive · SOLD!

1984 build E28 528i left hand drive 5 speed manual gearbox car originally from Greece although it has been registered in the UK, has a V5 and is on a B prefix. The interior is in excellent condition including a crack-free dash board, it is like a time capsule inside. The car requires a few panels which we can help supply and unfortunately the chrome is in poor condition. We have made no attempt to make this car run. The engine oil is clean and there is evidence that the car was well cared for until it came off the road. Structurally it requires welding in most of the normal places, front floor corners, jacking points and sills as well as some more unusual areas. This vehilce requires a more advanced restoration but in our opinion it is still far too good to dismantle and would be a great example when complete.

E28 525e auto · Gazzellen Biege · 93k · SOLD

IMG_8625.JPG

1986 build date in an unusual colour with a superb brown hounds tooth interior. The interior on this car is in excellent condition with the exception of the dash which is badly cracked. Overall this car is really good on the rust front, with all panels except the front wings being pretty free of corrosion. The shell is also very good with only a small jacking point repair required. Sadly it would seem that every time it was driven the owner managed to hit something and the car is covered in car park dings. In our opinion this would be a very easy project requiring mainly paint. The car runs and drives really well and although it requires a good inspection 2 service, it is mechanically sound. It is also fitted with some desirable period correct aftermarket alloy wheels called allu-lites, which were available when these cars where new and are now very retro cool.

E28 M535i dog leg manual · Alpine white · 123k · £20,000.00

This E28 M535i is a factory dog leg manual, it is a very late production car so has the later superior brake master cylinder set up. The car is part of the Bahnstormers 9 barn find of which we found 9 E28’s in 2019 (Read more in the blog section of the website). The car has some history which suggests it was well cared for (main dealer) and our exploration of it would support this. The engine looks to have had a top end rebuild and timing chain overhaul as the components, and interior of the cylinder head look brand new.

We began restoring the car for a customer who has sadly had to back out of the project. It was being completed to an extremely high standard and we have hundreds of photographs and videos of the process so far.

The project has reached a good stage with the most costly and time consuming aspects now complete. All the welding is complete and the entire underside has been cleaned , prepared and resealed in the original factory product to give a perfect OE finish to the underside of the car. Most of the subframe components have been removed, blasted and then refinished in epoxy mastic which offers superior long term protection to underbody components. The shell is ready for paint and the car has a complete compliment of panels comprising of excellent used items and new items.

The car was complete and totally original before it was dismantled down to it’s metric wheels. The car has black sport leather as per it’s factory specification and a crack free dash has been secured to go with this project so all the sparsely obtainable components are present in order to make sure this is a stunning example once complete. The car is still a blank canvas which would allow a perspective buyer to complete it as they wish but the most time consuming aspects of the project are complete and the components are all largely prepared to be reinstalled once the shell is painted. The current investment in the project stands at £25,500.00 so the purchase price of £20,000.00 represents a very good buy indeed.

E28 528i auto · Black · 176k · POA

IMG_1224.JPG

This extremely well specced 1986 528i se auto is fitted with an unusual lama beige leather, glass moon roof, head light wash wipe and cruise control. It also has an enormous history file which includes a cylinder head rebuild and brand new M-tech suspension fitted at the BMW main dealer shortly before it came off the road. The bodywork is very straight and the panels largely in good condition except for some rust appearing between the hinges on the driver’s door and a small dent in one of the front wings. The car does require some welding to the normal E28 areas of concern, such as sills, jacking points and front floor corners but is largely in good condition. The car runs and drives under its own steam but will not hold temperature as it appears that the head gasket has failed.
