Let's Talk About Your Classic BMW
Frequently Asked Questions
Our labour rate for mechanical work is £95 per hour plus VAT and £75 per hour plus VAT for welding and fabrication work.
We operate a 7 day term for payment so all invoices must be settled within 7 days.
We only require upfront payment for our appraisal service, which is paid at the time of booking.
For larger projects, we may ask for a deposit to secure workshop time. In some cases, paintwork or major parts orders will also be invoiced in advance.
For most work, however, we invoice as the project progresses — either for completed work or for parts as they are ordered.
Yes — we can arrange collection from anywhere in the UK or internationally.
Whether the car is roadworthy or not, we’ll organise the most suitable transport for the situation. This ranges from enclosed transport for high-value vehicles to more specialist recovery for cars with limited access or that have been off the road for some time.
All transport is handled by experienced, fully insured professionals, so you can be confident your car is in safe hands throughout.
The best starting point is to book your car in for a full appraisal via our contact form. This allows us to properly assess the vehicle and provide an informed estimate based on its condition and the work required.
Due to the nature of classic car restoration and repair, it isn’t always possible to provide a fixed quote upfront. Our estimates are based on experience and similar projects, but unforeseen issues can arise once work begins.
We aim to keep any variation within a 20% margin of the original estimate. If additional work beyond this is required, we will always discuss this with you and gain approval before proceeding.
Throughout the process, we’ll keep you updated so you’re never caught off guard.
Yes — we offer a comprehensive inspection and appraisal service at £456 (including VAT).
We typically require the car for most of the day so our technician and fabricator can carry out a thorough assessment. This allows us to look beyond the surface and understand the vehicle properly.
Following the inspection, you’ll receive a detailed report giving you a clear, honest view of the car’s condition before committing further. From there, we can advise on a tailored plan of works — whether that’s light recommissioning, MOT preparation, or more extensive structural and cosmetic restoration.
Yes — all new parts we supply are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty, typically 12 months or a set mileage (whichever comes first).
If a part we’ve supplied fails within this period, we will cover the labour required to rectify or replace it.
For parts supplied by the customer or used components, we’re unable to offer a warranty. In these cases, any associated parts and labour costs would be the responsibility of the owner.
If you have any specific questions around warranty or coverage, feel free to get in touch — we’re always happy to clarify.
