E28 525i Manual Project

Quite an unusual coloured 525i non sunroof project, in fact it is the only Basalt Blue car I have ever seen in the flesh so could quite possibly be the only Basalt E28 left on (near) the road. The car is offered as a project. It needs quite a lot of work so you would need to be handy with a welder or know someone who is, or of course we would be very happy to undertake it as a commissioned restoration. The welding ranges from floor corners to jacking points, inner wings and rear wheel well to boot floor. The rot is not rampant throughout the vehicle, its more that previous repairs have now begun to fail. Sadly, the engine is also in a very poor state although it does run it is in need of a rebuild. We have sourced an extremely low milage engine which could be dropped straight in and will be included in the sale if required.

The good bits - Most of the bolt on panels are in a really good shape. It does require one rear door and possibly a wing but otherwise the rest are serviceable. The interior is in superb condition, seats, headliner and an uncracked dash would you believe even the cluster works. The car was being driven regularly until roughly 2017/18 and has been maintained. There is a very good amount of paperwork to go with this car including original book pack, service book and a nice slice of invoices and receipts for work done.

A great basis for someone looking for a project.
